How do I know if StepFresh will fit my toilet?
StepFresh has been carefully designed to fit 99% of standard toilets (those with a traditional 'rim' around the inside of the bowl) so chances are it will fit yours!
However, to be sure please check out our INSTALL page to find out more or watch our compatibility video (see link below).

Does the StepFresh really mean I don't have to use a toilet brush again?
Yes absolutely. For optimum results – use a good quality toilet cleaner or bleach AND use StepFresh after flushing (not before) to allow your toilet cleaner to work on the toilet bowl in between uses. You will then find any stains left on your toilet bowl will vanish the next time you flush. Some people won't believe this but we have tested extensively and know it works.
Can I use any cleaning chemical inside StepFresh?
We have tested StepFresh extensively with a variety of leading toilet cleaners, including Domestos, Toilet Duck, Bloo, Pink and lots of UK supermarket own brand bleaches (including Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Aldi and Lidl) all work well. We would recommend you use one of these standard bleaches or toilet gels because we cannot guarantee what will happen if you use any alternative that is not listed.
Can I use neat bleach/toilet cleaner in StepFresh?
Yes you can. However, we recommend you don't. Instead we recommend you add about 20% bleach/toilet cleaner and 80% water. You will get the same cleaning effect but it will mean you use less bleach which is good for your pocket and good for the environment!
Can I mix chemicals in StepFresh?
No. DO NOT mix different toilet cleaner solutions within the StepFresh system because it might cause an adverse chemical reaction. Each time you want to change to a different chemical, flush the StepFresh system fully with water before you fill with a different toilet cleaner solution. If in any doubt, ALWAYS flush the system with water first.
Can I diulte my bleach/toilet gel with water if I want?
Yes you can. We actually recommend you do this and add about 20% bleach/toilet cleaner and 80% water. You will get the same cleaning effect but it will mean you use less bleach which is good for your pocket and good for the environment!
Is StepFresh better than a traditional 'rim' block?
This simple answer is YES. StepFresh will keep your toilet much cleaner. The reason is that rim blocks only dispense a very small amount of cleaning chemical around your toilet each time you flush, meaning most of the chemical is flushed down the toilet. StepFresh on the other hand is able to dispense a large volume of toilet solution evenly around your toilet and can be left to work!
Are the StepFresh tubes visible to users?
The tubes inside your toilet remain completely hidden flush after flush thanks to our patented technology.
The tubes going up the side of your toilet are designed to be as discreet as possible and are anchored to the side of the toilet. When installed correctly, these side tubes will be virtually invisible.
How robust is StepFresh?
StepFresh has been carefully designed to withstand constant use and harsh chemicals. It has also been through 10,000 cycles on a test rig to prove this. This is equivalent to around 9 years of use in a domestic home (based on using StepFresh 3 times a day) so we are very confident you you won't have any problems!
Does StepFresh come in any other colours or shapes?
Not at the moment but please do get in contact and let us know what colours you would like to see and we will consider for future versions!
Does the tubing under the toilet rim get dirty and need cleaning?
No cleaning of the tubing is required. The tubing is designed from special non-stick silicone so nothing will stick to it! In addition, the constant flushing of the toilet and constant use of StepFresh will keep the tubes clean.
Can I still manually clean under the toilet rim if I want to?
Yes of course. The StepFresh tubing can be easily removed so you can clean under the rim. Once finished, you can simply fit the tubing again!
Is StepFresh safe for kids to use?
Yes StepFresh is completely safe for your child to use. It has also been carefully designed with a special non-return valve at the top so that if a young child picked it up and turned it upside down or on its side, the liquid would stay inside StepFresh and would not spill out, keeping your child safe.
